Migration

Move to Klaviyo without losing a subscriber.

I've moved brands to Klaviyo from Attentive and other platforms. Subscribers come over with their consent intact, flows are live before the old platform shuts off, and nobody gets a welcome email twice.

What's included

  • Email and SMS subscriber export and import with consent records
  • Suppression lists carried over so unsubscribed people stay unsubscribed
  • Core flows rebuilt in Klaviyo and tested before cutover
  • Signup forms and popups replaced on your Shopify store
  • A cutover plan timed around your contract and send calendar
  • Old platform switched off only after Klaviyo is verified

How it works

Four steps, in this order.

  1. 1

    Inventory

Every list, flow, form, and integration in the old tool gets written down, along with how consent was collected.

  2. 2

    Build in parallel

Klaviyo gets set up and the flows built while the old tool keeps running.

  3. 3

    Import and test

Subscribers and suppressions come over, and test profiles go through each flow.

  4. 4

    Cut over

Forms switch, the old flows turn off, and I watch the first week of sends closely.

FAQ

Common questions.

Will I lose my SMS subscribers?

Not if consent is documented. SMS subscribers can move to Klaviyo when you have records of how and when they opted in. I check those records before anything is imported.

How long does a migration take?

Plan on a few weeks. The timeline depends on how many flows and forms you have and when your current contract ends.

Do my old flows come over automatically?

No platform transfers flows directly. I rebuild them in Klaviyo, which is also a good time to fix the ones that weren't working.

Can I keep using the old tool during the switch?

Yes. Both run side by side until Klaviyo is tested, so there's no gap in sends.

Taking on new brands

Send me your store. I'll send back what I'd fix first.

Share your Shopify URL and a line about what's going on. I'll look through the site and your email program before we talk, so the first call gets somewhere.
